Amy Arbus and Street Style Photography

Street style photography is now a huge thing you can find it in magazine as well as on hundreds of blogs from around the world, one of the first photographers to create photography of this style was Amy Arbus. I enjoyed looking at Arbus' 'On the Street 1980-90' book and here are some of my favourite images taken from it.

The book shows images used for her column on Manhattan street style in The Village Voice, the page documented downtown’s most vibrant, creative dressers and personalities.

From this work I started to look at online street style blogs looking at current fashions and how they photograph.

Like Arbus' work these blogs all try to find uniquely dressed people that stand out to create fashion inspiration for viewers, there all simple quick images that appear posed but not to set-up.
